Application Management Specialist – H2R
 
Description:
 
The Application Development Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions in order to meet the business requirements for Hire to Retire process stream.  The Specialist is responsible for the estimation of the level of effort (BEE - Base Effort Estimate), converting business requirements into functional and/or technical design specifications, system configuration, implementation and testing in accordance with the Clients' Shared Services Change Management Process. Additional responsibilities include creation of required documentation, post Go-Live support and knowledge transfer to support the handover of the daily operations of the implemented solutions to other team members of the Application Management team.
Position Requirements (Experience and Technical Expertise):
•    Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Information Technology
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP HCM Application Support
•    Extensive experience in SAP - Payroll and Benefits for US and Canada. For US – BSI 10.0, SUI, 401 K Plans, W2, W4,, Affordable Care Act, US Health & Insurance Plans. For Canada – T4 & RL Forms, Online filing, WSIB, Online ROE 2.0, etc.  Extensive Union Payment related configuration experience, Garnishments, Benefits integration with TP for both Inbound & Outbound, and TP Vendor payments for both US & Canada. Sound knowledge of Rules and Schemas with ability to write new Rules and Schemas
•    Experience in SAP - Time management and ESS/MSS. Integration with KRONOS, SAP and COMMAND. Holiday Calendars, Work schedules, Quotas and Positive and Negative Time Management. Time Types, Overtime and Time Wage Type configuration experience is a must.
•    Experience and knowledge of ABAP HR and Adobe Forms are preferred. Sound knowledge of Rules and Schemas with ability to write new Rules and Schemas
•    Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management concepts and procedures
•    Demonstrated knowledge of HR business processes and compliance areas for US and Canada

•    Willingness to provide 7 x 24 support when required
•    Excellent Microsoft Office/Project skills desired
•    SAP HCM Certification is desired
•    ITIL Service Management certification desired
Education:
•        Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline is required
Major Duties / Responsibilities
 
1)     Application Development Life Cycle and Operational Support
a.      Design and implementation of technical solutions based on business requirements received for minor enhancements and projects approved by the respective Business Process Owners and the ECRB (Enterprise Change Review Board)
b.      Responsible for estimating level of effort, converting business requirements into technical/functional design specifications and application development related to H2R systems.
c.      Work closely with the Design Team to ensure the technical solution is aligned with the proposed design and architectural principles
d.      Configuration, development and implementation of the solution based on the technical/functional design specifications
e.      Document test cases and execute unit and integration testing of the build code/configuration
f.       Support Business/Key Users in the User Acceptance Testing where required
g.     Documentation and handover of the implemented solution to other Team members of the Application Management/Support Team
h.      Work closely with Delivery Managers as subject matter experts to ensure all Changes are delivered on time, within budget and of the expected quality. Raise relevant concerns at the appropriate time with a view to ensuring delivery of the Changes with the appropriate solution.
i.       Developing system application using various SAP Technologies
 
2)     Support IT Service Management and IT Quality Processes
a.      Responsible for active support and adherence to IT Service Management procedures
b.      Responsible for support and compliance with incident, change and release management procedures
c.      Responsible for monitoring and supporting the established Quality Assurance and Testing process
d.      Seek Constant Improvement
Continuously measure accuracy of estimates and target release dates in order to improve reliability of information provided to the IT Business Partners for level setting the Business Process Owners
e.      Frequent communication with IT Business Partners and Business Analysts through the Delivery Managers, in order to improve the understanding of the different business processes and requirements
f.       Collaboration with Design Team to design and implement solutions to improve and optimize the H2R system and landscape.
g.     Regularly communicate with the team to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans addressing these areas
 
3)     Communicate ongoing efforts with the appropriate IT Management
a.      Regularly update IT Business Partners and Change Manager on progress and targeted release dates of all enhancements and projects
b.      Routinely quantify and qualify IT application systems quality and reliability
c.      Communicate findings on a regular basis to the appropriate team lead or management
d.      Obtain approval for architectural changes through Enterprise Architects
Additional Information
•    Month end period is the one of the busiest time, therefore candidate can expect longer work hours
•    CBA Changes also require exceptional turnaround times
•    Knowledge of business process is crucial in the position
•    Knowledge of SAP Technical (ABAP, BW, Portal, PI, Workflow)
•    Candidate must be willing to continue learning new innovative technologies
